Your Twickenham Massage Team
We provide a variety of massage styles in Twickenham. This includes sports, pregnancy and deep tissue massage by physiotherapists or therapists with medical degrees. What constitutes a great massage is unique to everyone. We assess and analyse you before your massage so that we can provide different pressures and styles to match your needs.
We leave five minutes between clients to clean the room with wipes and an aerosol disinfectant. At Move Physio, we offer massage that is moderate to firm in nature and specific to the areas that you need treating rather than following a massage routine.
Cupping
Cupping is a dynamic soft tissue technique that helps release tight muscles, improve blood flow, and speed up recovery. Cupping is often used alongside other hands-on treatments to optimise recovery and tissue mobility.
Pressure style = Moderate
Deep Tissue Massage
Our deep tissue massages are always aimed at breaking down knots in your muscles that we might call trigger points. It does this by warming up the muscle which allows us to target deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. This leads to a decrease in tension and improvement in flexibility which can help to relieve any pain.
However, if after the massage you still have any chronic pain or musculoskeletal issues, do book in with our physiotherapy (hyperlink) team as it will need a more targeted approach before massage can become a useful way of maintaining the muscle, nerves and connective tissue in your body.
Pressure Style = Moderate to firm
Dry needling
We use sterile needles to help deactivate trigger points, relieve muscle tension, and promote natural healing. Safe, effective, and often fast-acting, dry needling can support recovery from sports injuries, chronic pain, and movement restrictions.
Sports Massage
We offer sports massage, specifically designed for athletes to enhance performance, prevent injuries, and expedite recovery.
Pressure style = can vary depending on what phase you are in your training or how close you are to competition
Pregnancy and Post-natal massage
Our pre/post-natal massage is ideal for expectant and new mothers.
The four trimesters can be tough on the body, so these sessions focus on relieving pregnancy-related discomfort and pain. The approach is complicated due to issues with positioning while keeping the baby happy. Our massage therapists have extensive experience in managing this to ensure the massage is effective and safe.
Post-natal massage is there to ensure we ease the body back to normal function as it recovers from labour or a c-section. It is always important to give something back to the body as we have put it through a tough time and this is a great way to help the muscles, nervous and lymphatic system recover.
Pressure style = light to moderate depending on which trimester.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy massage combines the therapeutic benefits of essential oils with gentle, purposeful touch to promote relaxation and balance. This treatment supports emotional wellbeing, reduces stress, and gently eases muscle tension.
Each session is personalised with essential oils selected to suit your individual needs—whether you’re feeling fatigued, anxious, or simply in need of some restorative calm. Aromatherapy massage nurtures both the nervous and immune systems while encouraging deep relaxation and mental clarity.
Pressure style: Light to moderate, always adjusted to your comfort and therapeutic goals.
IASTM / Kinesiotaping / Buccal Massage
IASTM, kinesiotaping, and buccal massage provide targeted support to help reduce pain, improve function, and speed recovery.
IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation): Uses specialised tools to gently break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions, enhancing mobility and easing chronic tension.
Kinesiotaping: Supports muscles and joints without limiting movement, reducing swelling, improving posture, and aiding injury recovery.
Buccal massage: Works inside and outside the cheeks to relieve jaw tension, boost circulation, and improve skin tone, delivering both therapeutic and aesthetic benefits.
Pressure style: Light to firm, depending on the technique and area being treated.
