Hannah Ainge
Pilates Instructor, Massage Therapist, Personal Trainer, Stretchologist
BSc Sports Science and Injury Rehabilitation, MSc Sports and Exercise Therapy
Biography
Graduating in Sports Science and Injury Rehabilitation (BSc) in 2018 and Sports and Exercise Therapy (MSc) in 2019, Hannah Ainge has had a range of experience working with sports teams and in private practice. Attending university in Yorkshire meant a lot of rugby players coming through the door!
Growing up doing a range of sports (and getting a variety of injuries!), Hannah uses her own experiences to empathise with the rehabilitation process. She believes in making rehabilitation work for you and aims to make the gym a safe space for all. Everyone deserves to feel strong and capable!
Hannah has worked with children and adults, professional and amateur athletes and everything in between. No matter your goal, the journey is just as important as the destination, and every step forward brings you closer to achieving it.
Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find Hannah in the gym strength training, or walking by the river with a coffee or a matcha! She loves to read fantasy novels, play video games and be out in nature. Previously, she was a national-level swimmer, and participated in gymnastics, dance and trampolining to name a few! However, her longest-running sport was karate. She trained for 10 years, achieved a 2nd Dan black belt, and maintained her title as National Kumite champion throughout her time competing.
Q&A
What's your go-to karaoke song?
My go to karaoke song would be Misery Business by Paramore, but nobody wants to hear me try!
If you could only eat one cuisine for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Japanese – one of these days I’ll try the proper stuff in Japan!
What's the most played song on your playlist right now?
Choosing one song would be like choosing your favourite child! But my most played playlist is one I created that features all my favourite rock/metal bands – and it just keeps growing!
How do you unwind after a busy day?
Give me a coffee, a comfy chair and either a book or a videogame and I’ll be relaxed in no time.
If you could swap lives with any fictional character for a day, who would it be?
I’m a big fantasy reader so it would have to be someone who lives in a universe where magic and mythical creatures exist. I always love an assassin arc so I choose Vin from the Mistborn series (one of my favourites!).
What's your favourite movie quote and why?
I am of the Harry Potter generation so “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light”. It’s a good reminder that you have to take the good with the bad to appreciate the lighter times, but it doesn’t mean you can’t find positive moments in the lower moments.
