Who We Help
Children & Teens
Growing bodies need the right care and support, especially during times of rapid change like growth spurts, increased activity, or exam stress. Whether your child is sporty, sedentary, or somewhere in between, our team is here to guide them through these stages with confidence.
As a parent or carer, you want to know your child is healthy, active, and moving well. We’re here to help with exactly that by preventing small issues from becoming bigger problems in the future. What we commonly see Children and teens often struggle with issues like growing pains, hypermobility, coordination challenges, or injuries from sports. It’s not uncommon for teenagers to suddenly underperform in the sports they love during a growth spurt – THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN ASSESS AND ANTICIPATE. Their muscles and limbs can’t always keep up with the speed of their development, which can lead to discomfort, frustration, or even injury.
Some of the more frequent concerns we help with include:
- Ongoing knee or heel pain related to growth plates
- Back or neck aches from posture or study-related strain
- Ligament sprains, especially in hypermobile teens
- Sports-related injuries are similar to those we see in adults
These aches and pains may be constant or come and go, often flaring up when school or training loads increase.
We know that young people aren’t just smaller adults. They have their own unique needs and responses to treatment, which is why we take a tailored approach. Our assessments involve both you and your child, ensuring they feel heard and understood throughout the process. We explain what’s going on in clear, age-appropriate language and encourage them to ask questions. We want them to feel informed, empowered, and involved in their care.
Who we help
How we can help.
Depending on your child’s needs, we may suggest one or more of the following:
- Physiotherapy or rehabilitation to treat injury or support posture, balance, or movement patterns such as walking or running gait.
- 121 Pilates (mat or reformer) to build body awareness, core strength, and control. This is especially valuable during growth phases or for those involved in sport.
- 121 personal training to support performance and reduce injury risk through safe, age-appropriate strength training.
- Sports massage to aid recovery after sport or relieve tension from long days at a desk.
Our goal is to help young people stay active, pain-free, and confident in their movement. Whether they’re recovering from an injury or just need some extra support during a key growth phase, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
