Who We Help
What is Diastasis Recti?
Abdominal muscle separation (commonly referred to as diastasis recti) occurs when the connective tissue between the abdominal muscles stretches, most often during pregnancy. This can lead to a noticeable abdominal gap, reduced core strength, lower back discomfort, and challenges with lifting or everyday movement.
How We Support Your Recovery
Our clinicians offer individualised rehabilitation programmes designed to rebuild strength and restore function and control. Your plan may include:
- Targeted core retraining with an emphasis on safe, effective movement
- Guidance on posture and body mechanics to support daily activities
- Practical education on how to modify movements to protect your core
- Strategies to reduce the risk of ongoing issues (such as persistent back pain or hernia development)
With appropriate assessment and expert guidance, most women are able to regain core strength and improve posture.
