Menopause MOT
Perimenopause and menopause mark an important transition in a woman’s life. Menopause brings changes that can affect your pelvic floor, bladder and bowel functions, bone health, sleep quality, mood and overall well-being. Our Menopause MOT is designed for any woman who is perimenopausal or postmenopausal, regardless of whether you are experiencing symptoms or simply want to check on your overall health. We will discuss any current symptoms, concerns and goals you have, discuss medical history and pelvic health history, and current activity levels. The assessment will look at your posture, breathing and functional movement, and core and pelvic floor muscle strength. Following your appointment, we will create a treatment programme designed to address any current issues you experience and work towards your goals.

What to Expect From a Menopause MOT
Your appointment is tailored specifically to you and your concerns. It combines clinical assessment with practical advice to help you feel informed, confident, and in control of your health.
Your appointment includes:
- A detailed health discussion We will explore your medical background and any symptoms you may be experiencing. This includes bladder and bowel function, pelvic floor symptoms, and any discomfort or changes related to intimacy.
- Movement and exercise review Your current activity levels will be assessed, with guidance provided to ensure your exercise supports bone strength, muscular function and overall health.
- Physical assessment We assess posture, core and abdominal strength, and pelvic stability. With your consent, an internal pelvic health assessment may be carried out to evaluate pelvic floor muscle function and coordination.
- Lifestyle and recovery factors Sleep quality, stress levels, relaxation, and nutrition are all discussed, as they play a vital role in managing menopausal symptoms and supporting long-term health.
Every woman’s experience of menopause is different. Our goal is to develop a personalised plan that works for you.
This may involve physiotherapy treatment, exercise programmes, and lifestyle adjustments.
