Lize Nel, MCSP HCPC

Clinical Director Physiotherapist, Pilates & Running Specialist

Lize Nel has more than 15 years of experience, having qualified as a physiotherapist in 2006 in South Africa. She has worked in both the UK and South Africa in private practice, government health systems and with sport teams providing her with a wide breadth of exposure to different people and injuries.

Lize specialises in diagnosing and treating muscle, joint and nerve pain with a focus on finding out the cause. Through addressing the cause, not only the symptoms, she ensures that you will not just receive short-term pain relief but lasting effects to prevent the pain from reoccurring. Her skill set is ideal for treating chronic and complex injuries.

She has undergone further training & specialised in Women’s / Pelvic Health, which adds to her vast experience as a physiotherapist. Her passion and supportive nature will be in full swing as she restores your body back to normal function and help you achieve your goals to function. Lize achieves this through a blend of a tailored exercise programs and specific cues to help activate the right pelvic muscles.

You will also see her in the Pilates studio taking classes or 1-2-1 sessions. If she was not busy enough, she also forms an integral part of our Running Coaching team and has had extensive training in running technique analysis and retraining.

Outside of work, Lize enjoys triathlons and has completed multiple Ironman 70.3 events. Running has always been her main love, she has participated in multiple local and international marathons, as well as ultra marathons, with a sub 3:30 marathon PB (blink and you might miss her!).

She loves travelling the world, and if there is tasty food and coffee around, you will find her there.

Seeing people improve and reaching their goals, I think I get as happy / relieved / excited as they do when things go in the right direction 🙂 being able to help others along their journey to get better is just an amazing feeling

“Sunshine day” somewhere in the end Jan / beginning Feb when it is grey & dark – somehow get the weather gods to give us 1 day of sunshine & we can all enjoy it outside without having to work

you can never control what any other person does or says, but you can control your own response / action.
